Description:
Prostanoid receptor ligand A cytoprotective PGE1 analog. Prevents NSAID-induced gastric ulceration. Misoprostol is a methyl ester and is therefore inactive in receptor preparations and in other situations where it does not undergo ester hydrolysis.
